This example uses different fluid zones to model a compressed air system which includes two lower pressure sub-systems. The lower pressure sections are supplied from the 'ring main' distribution system and are controlled by pressure reducing valves.

Note: All flow values are specified in mass flow units (kg/min). Mass flow values will be consistent throughout the model i.e. the mass flow exiting a pipe will be the same as the mass flow entering the pipe.

Actual volumetric flow rates will increase throughout the model, since as the pressure in the pipe reduces so the volume of gas will increase.
