Can user defined fitting data from Pipe Flow Expert be imported into another installation?
Yes. It is possible to copy user defined fitting data from an existing installation to a new installation.
Pipe Flow Expert stores user defined fitting data in a file named 'Pfn_Fittings.pffiu' beneath the 'FittingTables' folder within the 'Pipe Flow Expert' main folder where the software is installed (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Pipe Flow Expert\FittingTables).
If you have installed a new copy of Pipe Flow Expert, in a new location, then you can copy the 'Pfn_Fittings.pffiu' fitting data file to the 'FittingTables' folder of the new installation (which is beneath the main 'Pipe Flow Expert' folder where the software is installed).
Therefore to import Pipe Flow Expert fitting data from one installation of the software to a separate installation of the software, follow these steps:
- Close Pipe Flow Expert if it is running.
- Copy the 'Pfn_Fittings.pffiu' file from the 'FittingTables' folder under the original installation to the 'FittingTables' folder in the new installation.
- Restart the Pipe Flow Expert software.
All of the user defined fitting data from the previous installation will now be imported and available to use in the new Pipe Flow Expert installation.
NOTE: If you copy user defined fitting data from one installation to another installation as described above then any new user defined fitting data that already exists in the new installation (should any have been defined before importing the previous data ) will be overwritten (and will be lost).
