Hydrogen is to be transferred between two tanks which are 400 m apart. The steel pipeline size is 32 mm nominal (1-1/4" nominal). The tank pressures are 2100 kPa.g & 1900 kPa.g respectively. If a compressor at the upstream end of the pipeline adds a pressure of 500 kPa what will the flow rate be between the two tanks?
The fluid has been specified at a standard condition of 20∞C temperature & 101.325 kPa.a pressure.
A pump object set to a fixed head pressure gain has been used to model the pressure increase provided by the compressor.
