If the fluid you are using in the pipe system is one of the most common gases, the viscosity and density of the gas at various temperatures and pressures can be calculated.


To add new gas data to the fluid database:


  1. Click the Fluid data button, FluidToolButton.dib, on the tool bar and select ‘Change Fluid’ from the pop-up menu to open the Fluid Data dialog.


  1. Choose the Gases option to display the Calculate Gas Data button.


  1. Click the Calculate Gas Data button to display the Properties of Gas Data calculator.

  1. Choose a Gas from the drop down listing.


  1. Enter the temperature of the gas.


  1. Enter the pressure of the gas.


  1. The density, viscosity and specific heat ratio data for the gas are displayed.


  1. Click Add new entry to add the data to the fluid data list.
